A little history
Pampa started as a railroad station in 1887, and its name comes from the Argentine pampas grasslands, which reminded a land company manager of the local flat country.

Getting connected in Pampa
Pampa started as a railroad station in 1887 and grew into one of the bigger towns in this part of the Panhandle. It is big enough to have options and small enough that the options thin out fast once you get toward the edges of town.
Licensed fixed wireless covers Pampa and the Gray County country around it. It works by radio from a tower to a small antenna on your roof, so the twelve empty miles between you and the next place are not a problem. That is the whole reason it exists out here, and the reason it reaches addresses cable never bothered with.
Worth asking about upload if you work from home or run a business. Video calls, cloud accounting, cameras, and backups all live on upload, and it is the part most rural connections skimp on.
Local techs handle installs and repairs. When something breaks you are talking to somebody in the Panhandle.
