A little history

Hart is named for rancher T. W. Hart, who hauled his frame house in from Swisher County on mule-drawn skids. The town organized in 1925, when the railroad announced a depot at the site.

Hart came together in 1925 once the railroad said it would put a depot here, and it sits on Running Water Draw where T. W. Hart set up his headquarters before that. It has always been a farming town in a farming county.
