The Castro County Courthouse, a 1940 Art Moderne sandstone courthouse on Dimmitt's historic courthouse square, listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

A little history

Dimmitt was laid out in 1890 and named for Rev. W. C. Dimmitt. After a fight between rival townsite promoters, Dimmitt won the county seat election in 1891, and the town incorporated after the railroad reached it in 1928.
