About Borger
Around Borger.
Worth a stop
The Hutchinson County Historical Museum, housed in a 1927 building downtown. Its exhibits cover county history from Coronado's expedition through the 1920s oil boom, and it displays a copy of Thomas Hart Benton's painting "Boomtown," sketched on a visit to Borger.
A little history
Borger was founded in 1926 by town promoter Ace Borger after oil was discovered nearby, and more than 45,000 people flooded into the boomtown within 90 days. It got so lawless that Governor Dan Moody sent in the Texas Rangers to clean it up in 1927.

Boomtoberfest, Borger's annual fall festival held every October, with a Main Street classic car cruise, a car show, live music, carnival rides, and a community fish fry that carries on the town's old "World's Largest Fish Fry" tradition.
On the map since
1926. A. P. Borger and his partner John R. Miller bought a 240-acre townsite right after oil was found here, and the boom did the rest.

Borger, built fast and built to work
Borger went from empty ground to a boom town in 1926, and it kept the practical streak. Industry here still runs on equipment that has to stay connected, and the houses around it need something better than whatever is left over.
Licensed fixed wireless covers Borger and a good deal of Hutchinson County around it. A tower talks to a small antenna on your roof. No line to trench, which is exactly why it reaches the places a cable company priced out and walked away from years ago.
If you work from home or run anything out of a shop, pay attention to upload speed rather than the big download number on the ad. Upload is what carries video calls, cloud software, security cameras, and offsite backups. It is also the number rural connections have always been worst at.
We are local. The tech who installs your service lives around here, and the service call does not start with a three hour drive.
